River, wash away my former obligations

Oaken branches, obscure me from unkind, vindictive eyes

By and by replace with peace of mind my past possessions

In my soul implant this newfound sylvan paradise

No God or king need ever pardon my transgressions

Here I stand unshackled, bold, in freedom’s simple guise

Only to a gentle breeze shall I make my confessions

Outside of urban limits and confines my heart now lies

Drained am I of care and worldly expectations
