Echo & Narcissus

Echo

Oh cursed pond, oh cursed ground

In which he saw, on which he strode

The eyes that he holds dear

His doom to meet so fast apace

Hear you my cry, a piercing sound

Hear you my woe, a bitter tune

Oh hateful pond, oh hateful ground

In which he saw, on which he strode

Himself outshine all else

Away from me forever more

Hear you my plea a thousand fold

Hear you my curse reverberate

Oh wretched pond, oh wretched ground

Dry up and dust to dust decay

To break the spell that him so binds

Send him to me, let me be free

Let him be mine, away I pine

Send him to me, let me be free

Away I pine, let him be mine

I fade and fade and fade

Send him to me, let him be mine

Let me be free, away I pine

I fade and fade and fade

Dry up and dust to dust decay

I pine and pine away

Oh wretched pond, oh cursed ground

Hear you my plea

Hear you my woe

Narcissus

Oh cursed pond, oh cursed ground

In which I saw, on which I strode

The paramour I cannot reach

To my doom so fast apace

I linger on, bewitched and caught

I linger on, my love to woo

Oh hateful pond, oh hateful ground

In which I saw, on which I strode

The lips I cannot kiss

Away from them forever more

I linger on, bedazzled, lost

I linger on, my thirst to quench

Oh wretched pond, oh wretched ground

Dry up and dust to dust decay

To break the spell that me so binds

Send me away, let me be free

Let me be mine, away I pine

Send me away, let me be free

Away I pine, let me be mine

I fall and fall and fall

Send me away, let me be mine

Let me be free, away I pine

I fall and fall and fall

Dry up and dust to dust decay

I pine and pine away

Oh wretched pond, oh cursed ground

I’ve lingered long

I’ll linger on
